Pomegranate-Apple Cider

Updated: Feb 10

A hot beverage is often just what we want in cold weather or at the onset of a bout of cold or flu. This hot drink offers warm spice with cloves and sweet cinnamon.

Ingredients:

  • 8 whole cloves

  • 2 (3-inch) cinnamon sticks

  • 3 cups pomegranate juice

  • ½ cup apple cider

  • ⅓ cup honey

  • Thin tangerine slices (optional)

  • Cinnamon sticks (optional)

Directions:

Place cloves and 2 cinnamon sticks on a double layer of cheesecloth. Gather edges of cheesecloth together; tie securely. Combine cheesecloth bag, pomegranate juice, apple cider, and honey in a medium saucepan; bring to a simmer. Cover, reduce heat, and cook 30 minutes. Remove from heat; discard cheesecloth bag. Garnish beverages with tangerine slices and cinnamon sticks, if desired. Serve warm.
